1. On the PFD, go to the System Upload page using the small FMS knob.
IMPORTANT!
It is at this step where the G1000 will be configured as a DA 40 or DA 40F.
Ensure that the correct airframe type is selected before proceeding; otherwise,
incorrect configuration information will be loaded.
2. Activate the cursor and rotate the small FMS knob to active the drop-down menu. Highlight the
airframe type in the GROUP field. Select the appropriate aircraft type (DA 40 or DA 40F) and
press the ENT key.
IMPORTANT!
It is at this step where the choice is given to load WAAS or non-WAAS G1000
software. Be sure to select the correct option. Loading the wrong software into
GIA63/63W units may cause an inoperable condition that is not covered by
warranty. Loading the incorrect software may make the GIA 63 or GIA 63W
inoperable and necessitate returning the unit to Garmin for non-warranty repair.
No warning appears if the wrong software is selected.
3. Once an airframe type is selected the cursor moves to the ITEM window. Rotate the small FMS
knob to active the drop-down menu. Move the cursor to highlight the appropriate aircraft model
(WAAS or non-WAAS) and press ENT.
