Note 2 – With GIA 63W P/N 011-01105-00 and 011-01105-01, GIA 63 P/N 011-00781-00 and
011-00781-01 the COM 1 and COM 2 software version is dependent on the hardware and is
not field loadable. The software levels may not be the same.
With GIA63W P/N 011-01105-20 the software is field loadable and is loaded with the GIA
63W software loaded in the baseline configuration.
Note 3 – With GIA 63W P/N 011-01105-00 and 011-01105-01, GIA 63 P/N 011-00781-00 and
011-00781-01 the NAV 1 and NAV 2, software version is dependent on the hardware and is
not field loadable. The software levels may not be the same and NAV 1 BB, NAV 1 FPGA,
NAV 2 BB, NAV 2 FPGA will be displayed as UNKNOWN.
With GIA63W P/N 011-01105-20 the software is field loadable and is loaded with the GIA
63W software loaded in the baseline configuration.
Note 4 – With GIA 63W P/N 011-01105-00 and 011-01105-01, GIA 63 P/N 011-00781-00 and
011-00781-01 the GS 1 and GS 2 software version is dependent on the hardware and is not
field loadable. The software levels may not be the same.
With GIA63W P/N 011-01105-20 the software is field loadable and is loaded with the GIA
63W software loaded in the baseline configuration.
Note 5 – Aircraft with ADF installed, third party ADF will not report software version and will be
displayed as UNKNOWN.
Note 6 – GDL 59 equipped aircraft.
Note 7 – GSR 56 equipped aircraft.
3. The software part number and version is displayed in the DATA window. Compare this
to the software configuration shown in the appropriate General Arrangement drawing
(see Table 1-2).
IMPORTANT!
It is essential that the software versions be checked and matched against the listed versions in
the appropriate General Arrangement drawing. Software Configuration is a critical part of
the G1000 operation and must be verified before returning an aircraft to service.
8.2 Backup Path System Testing
This final checkout tests various secondary communications paths to ensure that the paths function
correctly.
Perform the following steps and verify the results of each test.
• Start the G1000 in normal mode.
• Before starting, create a simple Direct-To flight plan to an airport or other waypoint that is greater
than 31 NM from the present aircraft position. Verify that the phase of flight displayed on the
GPS CDI is ENR.
• Verify that no ‘Backup Path failure’ alerts are present. If they are, troubleshoot per Section 5.6
before continuing. All backup paths must be operational before returning the aircraft to service.
